Some general care tips for your pot plants:
- Choose the appropriate potting mix. Get this right from the start to give your plant the best chance to thrive
- Make sure your plants are draining and that any drainage holes aren’t clogged.
- Water regularly but do not overwater. Test the soil each time you water by sticking your finger in to make sure the soil has dried out since your last watering.
- Place plants in an appropriate spot for their sun and light requirements. Protect your plants from extreme weather conditions
- Rotate your plants periodically for equal light exposure and to limit them growing in one direction towards the sun
- Dust off the leaves.
- Remove dead or damaged leaves, branches and flowers
- Keep an eye out for pests and diseases and treat immediately if found
- Fertilise plants as required. Generally speaking, fertilise monthly during growing seasons and reduce or stop fertilising during the dormant seasons. It is important to research your plants specific requirements.
- Keep an eye out for plants that have outgrown their pots and may need re potting into a larger pot.
